Special Resource Provision

Coteford Junior School is a mainstream academy, which benefits from additional resources to support up to 13 children with physical disabilities.  Our site is on one level and is totally accessible. Our facilities include a physiotherapy suite and we benefit from having physiotherapists and occupational therapists on site regularly. We are proud to be one of a very few schools in the country who have been awarded the Inclusion Quality Mark for a fourth time.  [Read our IQM report in 'Key Information']

'A unique feature of the school is that it has a special resource provision for pupils whose primary need is a physical disability.  The Corner House, as it is known, is a credit to the school and to the passionate and caring staff who work there.  Children in the mainstream, take responsibility for ensuring pupils from the provision are warmly integrated into school life.'

There is a strong reference to Inclusion throughout the school, both formally and informally.  The culture is such that the staff continually strive to make sure that the children's many and varied needs are met.  The children, therefore, realise that they are very much valued by the staff, and are confident that they will be supported in their learning.  The atmosphere in all classrooms is one of determination, and confidence that progress will be made and the aims of the session be achieved.'
