  • ANTI-BULLYING WEEK from Mon 13 November

    Mon 13 Nov 2023 R Eckley

Whole School Anti-Bullying Week from Monday 13 th November 2023

As part of Anti-Bullying Week, in our PSHE lessons and in assemblies, we will be discussing all forms of bullying. We will be using materials from the Anti-Bullying Alliance.  Discussions we will be having in class:

    What is bullying?

Bullying is when a person repeatedly says or does things to control another person. People can bully others by, among other things, calling them names, making derogatory comments or writing mean things about them, excluding them from activities, refusing to engage with them, threatening them, inducing fear or dread in them, stealing or damaging their property, hitting or kicking them, or forcing them to do things they don't want to. This might take place in person or online. Bullying can refer to a variety of things; all of them are damaging. If you are being bullied, then you might think that it's your fault. It isn't. No-one has the right to bully you. If you speak out about it, there are people who care - they will listen to you and help you. Have any of these things happened to you? Have you done any of these things to someone else? Really, bullying is wrong behaviour which makes the person being bullied feel afraid or uncomfortable. We need to unite against bullying.

Your child is invited to wear BLUE clothes on Wednesday 15th November to mark Anti-Bullying Week. No money is required. If your child has PE, please wear something appropriate for exercising.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITY – your child is invited to create a leaf over half-term for our anti-bullying tree. This work is for display and needs to have an anti-bullying message written on it.

Please contact us if you require any further help or advice. Mrs. Eckley
